This role is based in Madrid and offers the option of working at the studio and/or remotely.
Responsibilities
* Create VFX shaders with node-based Unreal Material Editor.
* Create assets, textures, PBR materials, simulations, etc., to produce outstanding VFX.
* Liaise with art direction to maintain VFX art standards for the game.
* Work independently or collaboratively with your department, as well as with Designers, Artists, or Animators to populate the game world with VFX.
* Understand and adhere to performance limitations of real-time environments.
* Collaborate closely with other disciplines in video game development.
* Receive and adapt to feedback professionally, and provide constructive feedback to others.
Qualifications / Skills
* Art-related degree and/or comparable professional experience.
* At least 2 years of experience in video games, including at least 1 shipped game.
* Strong visual and technical understanding of effects and particle generation in real and non-real-time renderers.
* Proficiency with Unreal Engine 4 particle systems, including Niagara and Cascade.
* Proficient in Photoshop and 3D software (Maya, Houdini, 3DS Max, or XSI).
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Full professional proficiency in English.
* Proficiency in other offline simulation and rendering technologies is a plus.
* Understanding or experience with 2D VFX animation is a plus.
