Job Summary
This position is responsible for creating and executing Demand Plans supporting sales goals and strategies. Building collaborative relationships across sales, marketing, and supply chain teams is critical for success.
The Sr Demand Planner will support the Demand Planning team in establishing optimal demand forecasts:
* Monthly for the mid to long term (typically 18 months out)
* Weekly for the next 2-3 months (inside the time fence)
This role requires strong data analysis skills to understand relevant factors influencing demand and to establish the Demand Planning department as the primary point of contact for demand-related topics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Generate volume and value forecasts as part of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, incorporating sales, marketing, historical sales data, and business consensus.
2. Coordinate and maintain demand planning databases and systems, applying statistical models and exception-based planning.
3. Prepare and distribute demand planning reports supporting business operations.
4. Analyze KPIs such as forecast accuracy, customer service, stock-on-hand, and waste, highlighting gaps and recommending actions.
5. Document and review demand assumptions, participating in continuous improvement efforts.
6. Manage demand changes during the frozen period in collaboration with business and supply planning teams.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree (MSc in Engineering or similar)
* 5+ years in supply chain, with at least 3 years in Demand Planning
* Experience with SAP, Manugistics, or APO
* Mastery of Excel; APICS certification is a plus
Skills:
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to collaborate across departments and manage conflicting priorities
* Understanding of supply chain principles
* Proficiency in English; additional European languages are advantageous
* Creative problem-solving, leadership, and effective communication skills
