Strategic Student Program Spain 2026 – Siemens Digital Industries Software
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many industries. The Strategic Student Program (SSP) is the formal internship program of Siemens Software globally, offering students a chance to work on real projects, gain professional experience, and develop independently within a supportive team culture.
Based: Madrid, Spain / Working on‑location, Part‑time (25 hours per week) / 6 months (additional 6 months possible)
This role is designed for students with a strong technical or engineering background who want to expand into commercial and market‑facing activities. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, academia, and business, helping drive how simulation technologies are adopted across universities in Spain by building and supporting relationships with universities, professors, and academic stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with universities, professors, and research groups
- Support account development and expansion across academic institutions
- Identify opportunities where simulation technologies can be adopted in teaching and research
- Translate engineering use cases into commercial opportunities
- Support participation in academic and engineering‑focused events
- Help identify new opportunities for technology adoption within educational institutions
- Contribute to commercial execution plans under the guidance of the sales team
Qualifications
Preferred Fields of Study
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computational Engineering
- Applied Physics or a similar engineering/technical discipline
Preferred Profile
- Strong interest in moving from technical work into business and market development
- Ability and motivation to engage with professors, researchers, and academic stakeholders
- Interest in simulation, computer‑aided engineering, digital twins, engineering software
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts and translate them into value
- Proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, strong team spirit, and willingness to contribute to common objectives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Spanish fluency; additional European languages are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Technical note
Simcenter and Altair technologies will be learned during the internship. Prior exposure is considered a plus, but not required.
Nice to have
- Exposure to CAD, CAE, simulation, or engineering software environments
- Experience through Formula Student, robotics teams, research labs, thesis projects, or technical student associations
- Familiarity with simulation‑driven design workflows
Benefits & Conditions
The Siemens Strategic Student Program in Spain will run for 6 months, with renewals possible depending on university requirements and internship availability. Interns may have the opportunity to write their bachelor’s or master’s thesis in cooperation with Siemens Software, depending on business needs and university alignment. The internship is paid, and interns receive an internship contribution.
