It is the only public Microbial Biological Resource Centre (mBRC) in Spain, serving as the national reference collection for bacteria, archaea, yeasts, and filamentous fungi.
CECT-UV actively participates in European and international initiatives related to the preservation and exploitation of microbial resources, such as the Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure (MIRRI-ERIC).
As part of its role in MIRRI, CECT hosts and operates both the Spanish National Node and the Collaborative Working Environment (CWE) Hub, fostering cooperation and coordination across Europe for the sustainable use of microbial resources.We are currently seeking an IT Technician specialized in web/software development and database management to support MIRRI and related projects (e.g., Bioindustry 4.0, MALDIBANK, Microbes-4-Climate, ResInfraPlus).
