The Securities Financing Operations group, within the Pre-Post Trade Services area is looking for a Late Shift Operations Analyst, based in our Ciudad Financiera (Boadilla del Monte) office. The role is part of Santander Back-Offices Globales Mayoristas (SBGM).

Responsibilities
As an Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for the management and timely settlement of security trades (Fixed Income and Equities). The role is client/broker/internal stakeholder facing and offers opportunities for career advancement. This is a highly dynamic role in a fast-paced environment where the manager and their team must adapt to changing client and business needs.
* Be a reference in a team in charge of timely settlement of all securities transactions (fixed income and equities) across global markets in accordance with settlement and funding deadlines.
* Identify, analyze and resolve issues and problems throughout the trade lifecycle, in a timely manner.
* Interact with clients directly to resolve trade issues or escalate as required.
* Provide support and deliver operational processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of securities and trade transactions are booked correctly in systems for clean downstream settlement.
* Act as a subject matter expert and participate in the development and successful implementation of systems, processes and relevant project changes for the Securities Ops group.
* Accountable for the department’s identification, assessment, monitoring and control of risk issues including knowledge transfer.
* Analyze and close any gaps in implementing process/procedure changes in the Securities Settlements Ops team.
* Identify and implement internal and external best practices, leveraging technology to enable efficiencies and continuous improvements in process delivery.
* Participate or lead process/system continuous improvement initiatives.
* Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Experience
* Typically, 3+ years of relevant experience
Education
* Post-secondary degree in related field of study (business admin. or similar)
Skills & Knowledge
* Fixed income and equities product knowledge;
experience in the financial services environment;
knowledge of equities and fixed income settlement, settlement and currency deadlines.
* Analytical and problem solving skills;
strong communication skills (verbal & written);
ability to work in a structured, high volume, time sensitive, high risk and demanding environment;
risk management mindset;
problem solver, results oriented;
collaboration & team skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration;
PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
