We're partnering with a fast-growing, VC-backed fintech on a mission to improve people's financial well-being. Since launching recently, they've already scaled to hundreds of thousands of users and processed over €1 B in transactions — and they're just getting started. The Role This is a Senior level, highly hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, and scaling backend systems in a modern, event-driven environment. You'll play a key role in shaping architecture, solving complex problems, and raising the technical bar across the team. What You'll Be Doing Designing and scaling backend systems using Python/Django Owning architecture in a microservices + event-driven environment Working closely with infrastructure and security teams (AWS) Taking systems from design → production → scale Leveraging AI tools to improve development speed and quality Mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering excellence Tech Stack Python, Django, AWS, Docker, Kafka, Postgre SQL, Redis, Mondo DB and Datadog What We're Looking For 10+ years of backend engineering experience Strong expertise in Python & Django Proven track record scaling systems in startups or scale-ups Experience with AWS and containerized environments Deep understanding of Postgre SQL and performance optimisation Ability to debug complex production issues Focus on performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency Strong communication skills (English) Pragmatic, humble, and impact-driven mindset What's On Offer Competitive salary Health insurance + meal allowance Hybrid working (2 days remote/week) High-ownership, low-ego environment A meaningful mission with real-world impact If you're excited about building scalable systems in a fast-moving fintech and want to stay close to the code while influencing architecture, we'd love to hear from you.
