Principle Responsibilities/Position Purpose: brEffectively develop and consistently execute sales strategies for the assigned market segment to meet personal booking goals and the hotel's overall financial objectives. Additionally, contribute to the sales team's overall goals and the success of Nobu Hotel Barcelona's position within the competitive set in Barcelona. Oversee and mentor Sales Executives in the MICE segment to ensure that business targets and quality standards are met, maximizing business opportunities in this area. Maintain and exceed Nobu standards to maximize profitability and ensure outstanding guest service. brESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS brEffectively manage and follow up on all incoming RFPs, responding within 24 hours (via email or call) to close potential business while adhering to Nobu Hotel Barcelona's sales standards and prioritizing our partners or critical periods (ALHI, CVENT, HB, etc.). Lead rate negotiations and ensure that we maximize market share in events, working closely with the Revenue Director/Commercial Director. Supervise, mentor, and provide training to the MICE Sales Executives to ensure they are aligned with sales goals and maintaining high standards in client management and negotiations. brPlan and conduct site inspections with both existing and prospective clients, guiding the Sales Executives through the process and ensuring alignment with business goals. brProspect new MICE accounts, expanding the lead base and growing the client database. Develop new business opportunities in the MICE segment. Gather, share, and use market trends and competitive set data knowledge to contribute to team's revenue strategies. brEffectively use Sales Force/Delphi while using existing sales standards to document all sales activities and grow Nobu Hotel Barcelona database working closely with marketing department. brDevelop and implement own sales action plans for each assigned segment to achieve personal and team financial goals (include KSO's) including FAM TRIPS brOrganize and conduct sales visits to assigned market(s) with qualified pre-trip agendas and detailed post trip reports. brEffectively and positively keeps the budget of the annual Sales Trip in an accurate manner each month. brAssist to provide relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales department including month end report, GM Flash, Weekly Sales Actions etc... brMaintain master reports such as OTBS, Detailed report F B Forecast daily updated. brAttend meetings as assigned – Groups meeting etc. brConsistently maintains Nobu Hotel Barcelona's team informed on upcoming groups, events or VIP clients in a professional and concise manner to anticipate guests needs and create guest loyalty SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS brIn addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. brContribute to the development of the annual business/marketing plan brPlan and manage sales and marketing resources according to agree upon budgets (particularly for travel and hosted events or general entertainment) brAttend mandatory meetings and contribute to these meetings in a professionally effective manner; regularly communicate with all team members. brParticipate in Manager on Duty programs, which may require occasional overnight duty. brParticipate in community public relations for the hotel. brComplete other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or General Manager brDemonstrate positive leadership characteristics and act as a role model for staff members. brRegularly research and remain current with Sales and Marketing trends. brMaintain and develop corporate image and reputation brKeep office clean and organized. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS brBachelors degree in hospitality or business preferred. brMinimum of 4 years' experience in sales within the hospitality industry (2 years as a manager) brExcellent spoken and written communications skills in Spanish and English, Catalan is a plus, but not required brMust have good understanding of group, corporate and leisure markets and previous work experience in the Barcelona market brExcellent computer skills including Microsoft Office. Opera and Delphi is a plus.
