Radiology Technical Asset Manager
Based in Porto, Barcelona, or Madrid. You will manage Unilabs’ radiology medical equipment fleet, including PET, MRI, CT, DEXA, X‑ray, and mammography systems, as well as auxiliary equipment and software such as Faraday cages, power‑supply infrastructure, and AI scan‑acceleration software. The role also covers associated maintenance services and recurrent specialised purchases (e.g., contrast media and radiotracers).
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and continuously update a medical equipment fleet strategy: defining standard equipment categories, “upgrade or buy” policies, maintenance/servicing plan policies, and selective audits.
* Work with procurement and country heads of radiology operations to define specifications for equipment replacement and greenfield projects.
* Guide local teams on handling adverse events of equipment (e.g., quenches).
* Stay up-to-date on technical developments of modalities (spectral and photon‑counting CT, helium‑free MRI) and vendor offerings.
* Optimise the fleet to support clinical objectives for patients and prescribers while meeting business targets for productivity and cost efficiency (scan throughput, energy consumption, helium usage).
Requirements
* Science or engineering degree (medical‑technology degree a plus).
* Experience in a similar function for a radiology network or hospital group, or experience with a world‑class OEM such as GE Healthcare, Siemens, Philips, Canon, or United Imaging.
* Strong operational and technical acumen with an understanding of key finance figures.
* Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage resources efficiently.
* In‑depth knowledge of diagnostics, healthcare systems, and regulatory compliance related to medical equipment.
