The Role
At Matrix, we are looking for a Junior Tax Analyst to join our Corporate Tax Department, with an interest in both domestic and international taxation. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a high-performing tax team that supports a dynamic, multinational group. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Tax Manager.
Key activities and responsibilities:
* Support in recurring tax advisory work on direct and indirect taxation of Spanish and non-Spanish legal entities (Spain, Italy, UK, Chile, US)
* Assist in the preparation and/or review of tax filings: VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Non-Resident Income Tax, Withholding Taxes, Advance Payments, Annual Summaries, Informative Returns, etc.
* Monitor and document intercompany transactions to ensure Transfer Pricing compliance.
* Assist in preparing and responding to requests from the Spanish Tax Authorities
* Help prepare tax due diligence reports and technical tax analyses for corporate operations.
* Perform tax research in multiple jurisdictions using internal and external databases.
* Stay updated on changes in Spanish and international tax regulations, including guidance and case law interpretation.
General Skills / Attributes:
* Degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
* A specialized Master’s degree in Taxation will be highly valued.
* Minimum experience of 2-5 years in this field, performing similar functions.
* Knowledge of accounting and commercial law.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with at least intermediate-level skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of databases related to tax rulings and case law will be an asset.
* High level of English is essential.
