GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The WTG Manager will support for the WTG packages to be implemented in projects in early stage and to follow up projects in advance stages, finding best practices between projects and capture them at corporate level. Reporting to the Engineering Director it is expected to be the group’s lead with projects being developed in house or where investment opportunities are being assessed for the packages being responsible for.
The position will work with staff seconded into projects in the related technical areas to ensure all of them meet the company’s requirements and to continuously improve those projects and corporate activities to industry best practices.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Accountability for the technical analysis and definition of the WTG work packages associated with the bids preparation/acquisitions/due diligence for projects.
* Coordinate the team reporting to the role, ensuring efficient resource is applied to deliver the work, team is provided with direction and support. Ensuring that the function has the required capabilities, skills and capacity to deliver on its objectives, on time and on budget.
* In close collaboration with the procurement department, develops and ensures a solid relationship with key suppliers across the construction services supply chain.
* Responsible for preparing, elaborating and providing all the specifications and technical documentation to allow Project's engagement and to evaluate the suppliers, with the intention of guaranteeing the correct application, bidding, construction and operation.
* Responsible for WTG corporate team preparing RFPs, assess offers, choosing the most competitive and adequate wind turbines and monitor contractors for Engineering studies and for Multi-EPC/EPCI contracts.
* Ensuring that wind turbines activities are in accordance with applicable standards, legislation, ethics, and good practices across the offshore wind farms industry, tender requirements, regulatory aspects and project policies.
* Provide technical support including innovation and liaise with other areas of technical department, both at corporate level and at project level, as necessary across the project lifecycle to ensure the successful completion of the project.
* Providing technical inputs to CAPEX economic modelling on the WTG package, including schedules and quality requirements and contribute to the deliverables, preparation of bids/ acquisitions, the progress reports and presentations of the technical department.
* Provide lessons learned on the projects and tools for standardization and industrialization related to WTG.
* Be responsible for objectives, resources and budget across the WTG function.
* Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Engineering Director.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Internationally recognised master in Engineering or Science Degree in an Offshore Wind relevant discipline.
LANGUAGES
Fluent in English. Ability to read, write and speak other languages will be a plus.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
* A minimum of +7 years of engineering experience within the power / energy sector and 5 years of offshore wind experience having participated in the development and / or construction of offshore wind projects with experience of Wind Turbine Generators particularly larger latest generation machines is essential.
KNOWLEDGE
* Knowledge of offshore WTG, its installation and associated activities is essential.
* Specific knowledge of the standards associated with WTG development and certification is required, including knowledge of key aspects of some of the countries regulatory regime.
* Uncompromising champion and practitioner of Health and Safety. Working closely with the group’s HSE professionals in different jurisdictions and in line with best practice and H&S Law.

* A pro-active approach to project optimization in order to identify risks and opportunities early and initiate appropriate actions.
* Hands on approach, accountable, organised and able to prioritise, strong level of enthusiasm, proactiveness, flexibility and be capable of identifying issues and establishing suitable solutions
* Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation and the ability to communicate technical issues effectively with clients, contractors and consultants
* It is expected to have between 0-3 reporting lines depending on the variable work load and the number of projects being managed at each time. You will be required to use your leadership skills including staff mentoring, development and empowering.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Job location will be Madrid (Spain). Flexibility to travel is required up to 30% of the time.
