About Us: The Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG) is one of the largest Genome Sequencing Centers in Europe. The CNAG Consortium carries out large-scale projects in DNA / RNA analysis for the improvement of quality of life in collaboration with the Spanish, European and International Research Community. The CNAG operates with Illumina and Oxford Nanopore Technologies sequencers, state-of-the-art single-cell equipment, and an extensive informatics infrastructure. The operation is certified ISO 9001 and accredited ISO 17025, delivering standardized, high-quality data for research and clinics. The CNAG has over 125 professionals and participates in major International Genome Initiatives and EU-funded projects.
The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated bioinformatician with a PhD to join the SEED-ALS Spain project, a national research initiative focused on understanding and treating Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) through a multi-omics, longitudinal, and precision medicine approach. The selected candidate will be involved in the integration and analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic, and proteomic data to identify disease mechanisms, biomarkers of progression, and therapeutic targets in ALS. The project is part of the 2024 call for grants to Personalized Precision Medicine Research Projects from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Project Code PMPER24 / 00017).
Key aspects of SEED-ALS: Multicenter consortium involving clinical and translational research groups across Spain; Comprehensive characterization of ALS using longitudinal samples and multi-omics profiling; Development of predictive models of disease progression; Strong translational focus including preclinical testing platforms.
