About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer (Tech Lead) to lead the evolution of a large-scale enterprise Data Platform within a integral organization. This is a senior technical leadership role that combines people management, platform architecture, data strategy, and hands-on engineering.
You will be responsible for driving the vision, scalability, reliability, and adoption of the company's Data Platform, enabling critical business functions through trusted, high-quality, and accessible data. This role requires someone who can operate at both strategic and technical levels while leading engineering teams in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers, fostering technical excellence and engineering best practices.
- Define and drive the roadmap for the enterprise Data Platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Design and evolve modern data architectures, including Lakehouse, Data Mesh, CDC, and event-driven patterns.
- Own platform governance, data quality, observability, metadata management, and platform operations.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into scalable data solutions.
- Drive adoption of self-service data capabilities and support the development of data products across multiple domains.
- Establish engineering standards, CI/CD practices, infrastructure automation, and platform monitoring frameworks.
- Remain hands-on when needed, contributing to architecture decisions, troubleshooting, and technical delivery.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- 3+ years leading Data Engineering teams in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating Data Platforms at scale.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Platform Operations.
- Experience working with large and complex data ecosystems supporting global organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
