What You’ll Do
- Safeguard Ebury and our existing clients from financial crime risk – including money laundering, terrorist financing, bribery and corruption, fraud, sanctions risk, tax evasion and reputational risk.
- Review and investigate matches against sanctions, PEPs, adverse media and internal lists in a timely fashion and process in compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and internal requirements.
- Conduct real‑time and retrospective rules‑based monitoring on client transactions and process alerts in compliance with Ebury’s processes and procedures, making risk‑based decisions when assessing the risk of the transactions performed by clients.
- Identify red flags and financial crime risk exposure, escalating to Compliance where required.
- Respond to Requests For Information on transactions from banking partners.
- Respond to queries from other internal departments, complete and manage all allocated tasks with focus and in a timely manner.
- Proactively follow up requests for information to ensure timely completion of customer due diligence.
- Communicate task status to colleagues, supervisors and managers, escalating issues swiftly where required.
- Adhere to all internal policies, processes and procedures.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer‑related issues (transactions, payments, RFIs and any other relevant issues as required).
- Support ad‑hoc projects within the department and wider business as required.
What You’ll Need
- Entry level role; experience in Transaction Monitoring / Screening or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of red flags and financial crime typologies relevant to FX and payment space is preferential.
- Diligent, with good attention to detail and analytic mind.
- Proactive, able to work within strict time‑frames and under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong research, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise and re‑prioritise workload as needed.
- Adaptable to changing products, processes and procedures.
- Curious and eager to learn, actively asks questions to confirm understanding of processes and procedures.
- Fluency in English; other languages considered highly desirable.
