Role Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity to join our developing risk engineering team and realize your full potential. Moving away from long-established, rigid processes, you will actively participate in shaping how our risk engineering functions to support underwriting and loss control. Your creativity will be as valuable as your experience and communication skills. Collaborating effectively with underwriters and engineers across all offices to deliver world-class risk engineering services will ensure your international visibility.
Core Responsibilities :
* Provide risk engineering services for Property underwriters across all Everest International offices, focusing on heavy manufacturing industries such as food, automotive, pharma, and light chemicals.
* Support the Everest business by delivering risk assessment and prevention services to facilitate account retention and growth.
* Support prospect client sales strategies and activities, acting as a strong sales asset.
* Conduct risk management activities including site surveys, risk improvement recommendations, loss reviews, account service plans, and other tasks for the Property department.
* Collaborate with the underwriting team and risk engineering to develop risk management structures, including assessment reports, risk grading tools, loss estimate guidelines, and other capabilities.
* Create and maintain service instructions, reference materials, training guides, and standard recommendations.
* Develop and manage publications and website content.
* Ensure timely delivery of high-quality work in a cost-effective manner, meeting performance metrics.
* Contribute to underwriting guidelines, research, and manage emerging issues and business opportunities.
* Maintain existing value-added services or develop new ones to meet customer expectations.
* Support marketing efforts with materials and presentations, delivering technical presentations as needed.
* Participate in departmental initiatives and planning sessions to address emerging issues and opportunities.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients.
* Communicate effectively with management on all relevant issues.
* Coordinate activities with other departments such as Claims and Market Management.
* Recommend new procedures and programs when appropriate.
* Monitor developments in regulation, science, and technology, and publish technical updates.
* Monitor losses to inform underwriters and risk assessments, updating recommendations accordingly.
* Work with risk engineering teams across lines of business to align processes and tools for a global “One Everest” approach.
* Share expertise and documentation with other engineers and underwriters to enhance the global team’s knowledge.

Skills & Abilities
* Excellent relationship-building skills both internally and externally.
* Strong market knowledge, including competitor profiles and products.
* Good judgment and decision-making skills, using logic and objectivity.
* Strong communication skills, including online and onsite seminars.
* Fluency in French and English; knowledge of additional languages like German or Spanish is a plus.
Experience & Qualifications
* Significant experience as a Risk Engineer within insurance.
* Degree in chemical, mechanical engineering, or related field.
* Proven presentation skills and experience.
* Ability to work with large accounts, producers, and underwriting partners.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
