AI & MI Solutions Specialist, Integral Procurement Operations (GPO), AI & MI Solutions

Role: This position is part of Amazon's Global Procurement Operations team, classified as a Supply Chain Manager II. The AI & MI Solutions Specialist will lead cost engineering and digital optimization across procurement categories (e.g., Packaging, Services, Robotics, MHE, CAPEX, Freight).
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to investigate and identify product innovations and design‑to‑cost initiatives with the ultimate goal of achieving cost improvement.
- Communicate and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information.
- Develop and maintain cost engineering KPIs and dashboards to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop overall procurement cost engineering roadmap and establish should‑costing for one or several procurement categories.
- Utilize costing methodologies and appropriate software tools to prepare reliable bottom‑up cost models and should‑cost targets during design, specification, and development processes in close collaboration with category managers, engineering and construction.
- Support preparation and evaluation of calls for tenders and supplier quotations, preparing negotiation dossiers from a cost engineering viewpoint in close collaboration with category managers.
- Advise on the cost impact of changes in specifications.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
- Knowledge of SQL and Excel at a moderate or advanced level.
- 3+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and procurement operations experience in indirect categories, including professional services, support and maintenance spend categories.
- 3+ years of experience with demand forecasting and demand planning.
- 3+ years of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Expertise in software programs for cost management.
- Oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Experience with SQL, programming and Excel VBA.
- Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI).
- Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time.
- Experience developing customer relationships and influencing key decision‑makers.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in SQL Server/MySQL.
