Experteer Overview As a Field Service Mechanical Engineer, you will diagnose, repair and optimise mechanical systems on 4-stroke marine engines and propulsion equipment. You will travel to shipyards and power plants to perform on-site maintenance and commissioning, ensuring safe, reliable operation. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team while supporting installations, overhauls and testing to uphold Wärtsilä’s performance and safety standards. This role offers hands-on impact in a global service network and a chance to advance sustainable maritime technology. - Perform maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on mechanical systems at marine and power plant sites
- Assist in setup, testing, and initial operation of new mechanical systems
- Support disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly during scheduled overhauls
- Maintain, repair and troubleshoot propulsion equipment (CPP, Thrusters, waterjets)
- Travel to sites (~80%) to provide on-site mechanical support
- Communicate effectively in English

- Proven troubleshooting, overhauls and commissioning experience
- Hands-on mechanical engineering experience, especially with Wärtsilä 4-stroke engines and propulsion systems
- Willingness to travel frequently for field service

- Proficiency in documenting maintenance, repairs and issues in records
