What you’ll do...
We are looking for a Cost Controller to join the opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance, you’ll support the Finance department on the financial operations of the hotel while managing hotel assets and ensuring a centralized accounting environment.
* Manage and record goods deliveries.
* Record F&B costs into the General Ledger System.
* Adhere to all cost control procedures (where applicable create new procedures).
* Update costings.
* Ensure compliance with documentation / authorisation processes.
* Process F&B accruals.
* Monitor inventories of F&B to increase inventory turnover.
* Participate in month end reporting procedures in relation to F&B stock and other tasks.
* Carry out weekly stock takes and evaluate potentials.
* Help with and maintain purchasing agreements.
* Maintain purchase system and ensure all items are up to date.
* Check and verify all reconciled inventory reports with book balance, actual count, and unit costs. Troubleshoot if necessary.
* Ensure all cost reports, daily, monthly, and yearly, are prepared and submitted on time.
* Verify and reconcile daily cash deposits against PMS reports.
* Coordinate withdrawals and change orders.
* Ensure internal controls are followed to prevent fraud or theft.
What we are looking for...
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field.
2 years of experience in a hotel’s accounting department.
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of attention to detail.
Fluent in Spanish and English.
You take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
You learn quickly and adapt to SLS’s unique culture.
