Job Description
As Head of Sales - Germany, you will be responsible for building and scaling our sales operations in the German market. You will lead the commercial strategy for Germany, building and managing a high-performing sales team while driving revenue growth and market penetration. This is a strategic leadership role that requires both hands-on execution and vision to establish Spendesk as the leading spend management solution for German businesses. You will work closely with our European leadership team and cross-functional partners in marketing, partnerships, and customer success to achieve ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Germany, building quarterly business plans to drive revenue growth and market penetration
* Team Building & Management: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing sales team
* Revenue Ownership: Take full accountability for financial performance in Germany, including pipeline generation, conversion rates, deal velocity, and revenue targets
* Market Development: Build deep market knowledge of the German Mid-Market landscape, competitive positioning, and customer needs to inform product and marketing strategies
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure coordinated market entry and growth
* Sales Operations: Implement and optimize sales processes, methodologies, and enablement programs tailored to the German market
* Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with key prospects, customers, and industry partners while representing Spendesk at industry events and conferences
* Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and team development initiatives to ensure consistent achievement of targets
* Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate revenue forecasting and detailed performance reporting to European leadership team
What We're Looking For
* Language Skills: Native level German and fluent in written and spoken English
* Sales Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of sales management experience in B2B SaaS, with proven track record of building and scaling sales teams
* Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the German business landscape, particularly Mid-market segment employees), with existing network preferred
* Revenue Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding revenue targets
* Team Management: Experience recruiting, developing, and managing sales professionals with strong coaching and enablement capabilities
* Fintech/Payments Experience: Background in financial technology, payments, or spend management solutions highly preferred
* Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven approach with experience using sales analytics, CRM systems, and performance dashboards
* Communication Excellence: Outstanding presentation and communication skills for both internal leadership and external customer/partner interactions
* Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced environment, and building something from the ground up
