Role Overview:
As an
Investment Analyst
, you will support day-to-day portfolio management, asset analysis and selection (equities, fixed income, funds/ETFs, and private equity), and the preparation of materials for clients and committees. You will play a key role in quantitative and qualitative portfolio monitoring, company valuation, tracking the macro and market environment, and systematically verifying compliance with Altum's ethical criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio management & reporting
: Assist in preparing and updating model portfolios; analyze performance and risk versus benchmarks; monitor liquidity and reconcile positions; prepare and send periodic client reports.
- Investment analysis
: Conduct qualitative and quantitative assessments of companies (equity and fixed income); build valuation models (DCF, multiples, ratios); perform sector analysis; source new issues and opportunities under financial and ethical criteria.
- Selection of alternatives and funds
: Support screening and monitoring of funds, ETFs, private equity and real estate; liaise with asset managers; evaluate terms, fees, and suitability within the Catholic investment framework.
- Investment Committee support
: Help prepare and present new ideas and products; update documentation and reports; draft minutes.
- Ethics & compliance
: Apply Catholic screening to all investment assets in accordance with Altum Investment Guidelines.
- Tools & commercial development
: Advanced use of Excel, Bloomberg, and databases; explore new tools (including AI) to improve efficiency; support client prospecting and the expansion of Altum Explorer licenses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline (Philosophy/Humanities valued).
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in investment analysis/management or a similar role.
- Knowledge of valuation models (DCF, reverse DCF, multiples) and financial-accounting analysis.
- CFA charterholder or candidate is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Bloomberg experience desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English (C1 minimum).
- Analytical mindset, strong organization and attention to detail; proactivity and teamwork.
- Interest in Theology/Social Doctrine of the Church and its application to investing.
