Job Description:
A vacancy for a Financial Controller has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Financial Controller department.
Responsibilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
* Co-pilot the financial performance
Plan & challenge:
* Understand the business operational environment (strategy, governance, challenges, constraints).
* Lead the preparation of the financial planning, prepare accurate forecasts, provide guidance in line with the overall company financial situation, and challenge business requests.
* Set & maintain multi-year financial targets.
* Develop and run financial models, simulations, scenarios, business cases (on projects, M&A, tenders) to support decision making and provide a comprehensive view on the financial implications of business decisions.
* Anticipate financial risks & opportunities and advise on mitigation strategies.
* Identify and secure external funding opportunities.
Analyze & advise:
* Produce accurate financial reporting, at the appropriate level of granularity.
* Assess actual financial performance, analyze deviations, and advise on corrective actions.
* Analyze cost base, revenues, unit costs (Airframe / Engine), R&D.
* Identify drivers for optimization and monitor savings.
* Anticipate financial risks and opportunities.
Support execution & ensure data quality:
* Compute Hourly Rate, support resource review & headcount targets, prepare Chargeback & cost reallocation models.
* Approve shopping carts, audit POs below approval thresholds, review commitments & accruals.
* Trigger costs rebooking & transfer when needed.
Communicate:
* Feed Investor Relations with relevant information supporting Airbus Equity Story.
* Ensure compliance and enforce finance processes.
* Define funding/cost allocation schemes with Tax, Treasury, and Accounting, and trigger actions accordingly.
* Review statutory accounts of affiliates.
* Define cost accounting structures.
* Ensure finance processes are well documented and followed.
* Help the business navigate finance processes and ensure compliance.
Interact with auditors as required.
* Raise finance awareness in the business.
* Define and share financial tools and referentials.
* Explain finance concepts to raise business awareness.
Programme P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, and related financial analyses across relevant periods.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for an Engineer or Sciences Degree with experience in Materials and Processes, knowledge of composite and/or metal and surface materials and technologies, with a balance of technical expertise and managerial skills.
Requirements include:
* Degree in Engineering or Science; Master’s preferred.
* At least 5 years of experience in composites, metals, or surface materials, including testing and analysis.
* Support for supplier qualification and development, impact analysis, problem solving.
* Experience in an international environment.
* Knowledge of aircraft materials standards, material technology development, and lab analysis.
* Project management skills.
* Knowledge of low observability materials and functionalities like thermal or electrical.
* Flexibility, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, ability to work under pressure.
* Proficiency in English and Spanish; other languages appreciated.
* Availability for travel.
