About the role :
The Data Layer team designs, maintains, and optimizes data systems of the Core application, focusing on building robust, scalable solutions in data-intensive environments with high performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities include developing features related to data storage, monitoring and improving read/write performance, and collaborating with other teams to support evolving data needs.
Technologies used:
Java, Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MariaDB), Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, Spring Boot, Spring, Maven, Docker, Helm.
We value engineers who own the design, implementation, and documentation of large features, collaborating with and sometimes directing other engineers.
The team currently comprises 4 Backend Engineers, working closely with QA, Product Management, and other departments.
What You’ll Be Doing :
The Data Layer team handles processing and structuring process automation event streams for efficient querying. Their work impacts application stability, decision-making, and company success.
We seek an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design and implement solutions for complex problems and evolve our data architecture to meet customer needs, working closely with Product Managers and Engineers.
Your responsibilities will include :
Designing and delivering new features that are secure, well-tested, and high-performing, adhering to internal standards.
Monitoring and troubleshooting database performance, driving continuous improvements.
Collaborating with stakeholders to maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
Assisting customers with operational issues as part of 3rd-level support.
Conducting spikes to explore technical requirements and solutions.
What You Bring :
5+ years of experience as a Java Backend Engineer
Strong knowledge of Java and experience with databases like Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and relational databases.
Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, Docker.
Pragmatic, autonomous problem solver with a desire to understand and improve complex systems.
Collaborative mindset with a passion for coaching and team improvement.
Ownership mentality, comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” approach.
Willingness to use our product.
Nice-to-haves include experience with RDBMS and Elasticsearch, and knowledge of CI pipelines.
What We Have to Offer :
Compensation
We consider skills and experience, typically placing candidates in the lower half of the salary range to allow for growth. The annual Total Cash Compensation varies by country, e.G., in the US:
$131,200 - $196,800;
in Singapore:
S$162,900 - S$244,400.
