To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), we are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.
Are you experienced in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning? As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with building and supporting the operations of AWS owned data centres, Hybrid Colo's, Single Tennent Colo, and Multi Tennent Colo builds. The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) understands, evaluates, defines, and manages the expectations of construction quality in accordance with engineering designs to meet customer requirements.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing extensive capacity at the lowest possible cost. Key job responsibilities
You will support vendors, contractors, and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of systems such as :
* High, Medium, and Low voltage power systems
* Generators, UPS, HVAC, Chilled Water Systems
* Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
* Testing and balancing, Pumps, and Hydronic systems
The CxE will provide multi-disciplinary input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning projects. You will review component submittal packages, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), perform system and integrated system testing. During commissioning, you will audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards. You will also prepare comprehensive weekly reports on project status and lessons learned to improve our processes. This role involves managing multiple ongoing projects.
Physical Requirements
* Walk job sites on uneven terrain
* Work at heights and from ladders
* Handle objects up to 49 pounds, work in noisy environments, and in extreme temperatures
* Work shifts longer than eight hours, including nights and weekends
* Respond to emergency calls outside regular hours
* Perform physical activities such as reaching, bending, twisting, manipulating small wires and objects

Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
* 1+ years of commissioning experience
* Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning courses
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%, with personal transportation provided and reimbursed
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems for critical infrastructure
* Ability to read and edit construction documents
* Experience developing and executing test procedures based on design and equipment submittals
