We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sourcing Manager - CGT materials and auto-injector devices to support our pharmaceutical and biologics operations. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and compliance in a regulated environment.
This role is based in Barcelona, Spain or Ljubljana, Slovenia. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.
About the Role

Key Responsibilities :
* Responsible for aligning globally with respective Category Manager and Procurement stakeholders (Business Partners) to implement Procurement projects to achieve key productivity targets.
* Provides end-to-end category and project management in the areas of CGT materials and auto-injector devices.
* Thorough alignment of business requirements, operational excellence, strategic sourcing and negotiation expertise, supplier market intelligence, financial productivity and mitigation of risk.
* Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, and tasks based on a specific appointment.
* Other tasks, determined during the annual objectives setting process and by KPIs.
* Responsibility for personal and professional development.
* Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or a related field (required). (advanced degrees (MBA or master’s in supply chain, or similar) are a plus).
* Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or biologics industries. (prior experience working in a highly regulated environment is essential)
* Proven knowledge of biologics manufacturing processes, including sourcing raw materials, cell culture media, and single-use technologies.
* In-depth understanding of FDA, EMA, and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations.
* Experience managing compliance for raw materials, single use technology and devices.
* Familiarity with import/export regulations and quality testing requirements.
* Experience evaluating, qualifying, and managing suppliers to meet quality and compliance standards.
* Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies for supplier-related issues or material shortages.
* Ability to negotiate competitive pricing structures, long-term contracts, and other agreements.
* Expertise in vendor agreements involving biologics-specific materials, licensing, and intellectual property considerations.
