We seek a Solutions Architect for Automotive to help our partners (like Mercedes, Ford, GM, Elektrobit, Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata) and prospects understand and adopt our open source platform for their needs.Our global field engineering team applies expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and related technologies. We are experts across the open source stack, from kernel to desktop, cloud to embedded. We continually expand our offerings to improve security, management, and developer experience in small Linux environments and devices. Our team is also interested in solving business problems—building reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions—and speaking the language of our customers and their industries.Beyond automotive expertise, this role requires a blend of skills. Successful candidates will have strong Linux knowledge, be proficient coders and scripters, with experience in low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies. They should enjoy a fast-paced, diverse client environment, and be driven, ambitious, and team-oriented.Our field engineers have "the hardest job at Canonical" because customers ask about any aspect of our solutions and expect well-informed answers.
