Universitat Pompeu Fabra - Department / School of Engineering is seeking a Research Support Tech for the Language and Comparative Cognition Group.
Offer Description
Applications are invited for a Research Support Tech in the Language and Comparative Cognition Group, led by Juan Manuel Toro, at the Center for Brain and Cognition, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). The candidate will form part of the project ProRythm Domain-general benefits for prosody: Linking linguistic and musical rhythm, funded by MICIU/AEI and by ERDF.
The ProRythm project main objective is to study if the acoustic cues underlying natural prosodic contours offer processing benefits in non-linguistic domains, more specifically in music. Three main questions will guide our work: Does prosody enhance musical processing? What kind of experience is necessary for the emergence of any prosodic processing advantage? Do similar principles operate in other modalities, such as vision?
The position is for 12 months and is funded by the project PID2024-155541NB-I00.
