Reporting To: EHS Lead/Client Safety Manager
Role Purpose: Provide full site safety, environmental, and health compliance oversight for the ZAZ Projects
Key Responsibilities:Review/approve risk assessments, safety plans, and permitsConduct site audits, (inclusive of offsite manufacturing facility), incident investigations, and trainingEnsure closeout of safety observationsEnsure compliance with the national statutory Health & Safety requirements for each construction projectWhere practicable, implement best practices and lessons learned across each projectEnhance, and improve, existing construction safety management procedures through a visible on-site presence, and through active participation in all aspects of day-to-day Health & Safety management on the projectsImplement a Construction Safety Management Program across each projectAssist on an as needed basis in the development of specific safety programsProvide an independent review, and oversight, of construction Health & Safety management procedures in place for project;
with a view to cross-evaluation of projects, sharing lessons learned / best practice, and driving continuous improvement across the construction supply chainAssisting in the identification, and management, of high-risk activities at each stage of the projects;
including liaising withdesign teams and working with contractors in forward safety planning and co-ordination of works activities.Monitoring and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assessment and evaluation across all construction projectsReviewing, and assessing, the health and safety implications of changes as they occur during construction projectsDeveloping, implementing, reporting and communications structures on Health & Safety management performance for each project to enable accurate assessment and evaluationActively engaging with all aspects of day-to-day Health & Safety management e.G. attendance, and participation, in – Meetings (both management & personnel as appropriate);
O Training workshopso Daily Activity Briefingso Management reviewsAttending planning and coordination reviews, for both day-to-day and longer-term safety planning for work activitiesAssisting in the evaluation of effectiveness of Health & Safety planning at site level, e.G. through the assessment of communications with all parties;
including contractors, workers, and supervisorsCarrying out independent Health & Safety audits on all aspects of construction management;
includingMonitoring compliance between Health & Safety planning and actual work on siteo Assess compliance with agreed KPIs across all project stageso HRA auditing and inspectionso Communications of Health & Safety at all levelso Co-ordination of work activities on the siteso Identification, assessment, and evaluation of high-risk activitieso Training and educationo Reviews of RAMS, safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc.O Competency of contractors and operativesAssessment of accidents, incidents, & near-miss reporting, including the evaluation of findings and monitoring the implementation of corrective and preventive measuresOn-going assessment of the resources provided by contractors to enable implementation of the contractor’s safety management programEncouraging, and promoting Health & Safety initiatives aimed at influencing positive safety behavior on the sitesEncouraging, and promoting, contractor participation in structured Health & Safety awards schemes by recognized bodiesOngoing collaboration and support to the client appointed statutory H&S coordinator role for each project
It is emphasized that the proposed role of the client adviser is intended as collaborative and supporting that of the main contractor. The contractor will maintain responsibility for all aspects of safety management on site.

General Requirements:Full time senior safety adviser role based on-site at each Data Center Campus locationMinimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior role with formal qualification in health & safety management;
with relevant experience in construction Health & Safety managementExtensive experience in contractor communications, and liaising with design teams, and other project professionalsDegree and/or certification in Health & Safety professionStrong communication skills with associated excellent reporting skillsStrict adherence to all project procedures and reporting cyclesLanguage skills: English and Spanish
