Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionAs a Release Manager you will support to the Release Management lifecycle of the Patient Insights Software Engineering Chapter in Roche Diagnostics.This includes scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can include application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, projects, and programs.Main tasks and duties:
* Release Management Plan: Create and maintain the release management plan, including planning release windows and cycles across a portfolio
* Release Planning and Coordination: Implement and manage release processes for code through development, test, and production environments
* Solution Release Scheduling: Consolidate standalone product release plans to maintain a cohesive overall release schedule
* Environment Gatekeeping: Ensure the stability of higher-level environments
* Release Schedule Maintenance: Ensure alignment and maintain the release schedule for all core services, coordinating across partners and impacted areas
* Performance Testing Coordination: Coordinate overall performance testing schedules, both product-specific and end-to-end at the Solution level
* Dependency Management: Manage dependencies at the environment level
* Product Catalog Maintenance: Maintain a comprehensive product catalog, including associated components and their compatibility matrix
* Configuration Management: Maintain the configuration management system to support releases
Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
* Research and Analysis: Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies, analyzing their application to current processes
* Continuous Improvement: Continually work towards improvements in the release process to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times
* Continuous Automation: Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate new automation tools with existing CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps tools to ensure a seamless and efficient release process. Aim to continuously reduce manual activities and drive improvements in efficiency and accuracy throughout the release cycle
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
* Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in software release management, with significant experience in DevOps tools and environments
* Technical Skills: Proficiency with DevOps tools, internal operations, and platform operations. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation. Hands-on experience in public cloud AWS, Google, or Azure (AWS Preferred) in the software industry
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex release scenarios
* Leadership Skills: Proven leadership abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for thoroughness and accuracy in all release activities
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certification: Release management or project management certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus
* Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, proactive approach, and ability to work under pressure
