Ph3Overview /h3pAt DHL Global Forwarding we are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our finance strategy and processes for Spain and Portugal. The position reports to the CFO Southern Europe and to the CEO DGF Iberia, and it will be based in Coslada (Madrid). This is a Local Senior Management Team position. /ppThe main purpose of the role is to develop and manage DHL GF Finance, Controlling and Administration function, in accordance with overall Finance guidelines, legal framework and accounting standards, with the objective of supporting the Subregional and Country management and contributing to the achievement of the business objectives, whilst meeting regulatory requirements. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliAnalyze financial and operational performance and manage ongoing cost control. /liliEnsure strong internal control environment. /liliIdentify financial risks and propose and implement solutions to mitigate these risks. /liliEnsure that the planning, budgeting and forecasting process complies with overall financial policies and procedures to support the achievement of strategic targets. /liliManage the mid-term planning and yearly budget process in conjunction with line management. /liliAssist line management and CEO Iberia in the preparation of operating budgets and monthly reviews. /liliDrive financial and operational performance and initiate corrective measures to achieve profitability targets. /liliSupport decision-making process of all relevant line functions with financial advice expertise. /liliResponsible for accurate, transparent, relevant and timely management reporting to sub-regional and regional management, including financial (CREST) and operational data. /liliPrepare variance analysis and narratives in order to alert management on financial issues, trends and opportunities. /liliManage cost modelling process, to ensure production of accurate, logical, standard costs. /liliManage profitability analysis (by product, customer, lane etc.). /liliSupport line management by providing an overview of business priorities derived from financial analysis at BU-, Branch- Product- Lane- or Customer level. /liliCoordinate budgets for all major projects including integration projects. /liliBuild up efficient project monitoring tools to ensure delivery of planned results. /liliEnsure fulfilment of any IFRS/ statutory/ legal requirements. /liliDrive improvement in working capital management. /liliIn conjunction with corporate tax and utilizing internal or external country tax expertise, ensure optimal tax position for the business. /liliMaintain optimum cash levels, whilst minimizing exposure. /liliEvaluate and prepare investment proposals according to DP DHL and DGF guidelines (i.e. Real Estate) /liliEnsure compliance with fiscal controls and with the guidelines from external auditors. /liliProvide financial perspective/ expertise in business negotiations with customers or suppliers. /liliCountry Compliance Officer: Act as point-of-contact in organization for employees to report potential cases of non-compliance or seek advice in cases, where non-compliance could arise. /liliFacilitate internal training to employees (Compliance, finance...). /liliEnsure compliance with legal and corporate policies (incl. fraud, bribery etc.), procedures and standards at country level. /liliEnsure adherence to internal authorization levels and other local guidelines. /liliLead, recruit, train and organize development of a motivated finance controlling team. /liliEvaluate the staff performance of direct reports and ensure that the same is done for the other members of the team. /liliBe responsible for applying and following the policies, procedures and processes defined in the Integrated Management System. /li /ulh3Qualifications and skills /h3ulliRelevant university degree, professional accounting qualification or equivalent (MBA, audit qualification). /liliDemonstrated and relevant experience in finance controlling functions, accompanied by experience at senior level in the Logistics Industry. /liliPreferred: minimum of 5 years of experience as CFO or Finance Director with PL responsibility. /liliKnowledge in international accounting standards (IAS, IFRS) /liliKnowledge in statutory accounting /liliLeadership, people management.
