Specific Requirements
Person with the ability to analyse and model complex dynamic systems and a strong orientation towards applied research. A proactive and autonomous professional with teamwork skills, experienced in solving technical problems and handling experimental data.Experience in research projects, scientific publications, and international collaborations will be valued, as well as knowledge of advanced programming in Matlab and the development of dynamic models, both temporal and spatio-temporal, including their identification and validation from data.Experience in experimental research, laboratory and field work will also be valued, including the use of agricultural sensors and field sampling, as well as knowledge of agro-hydrological systems and control techniques applied to irrigation optimisation.

Amount: 1.789,39 € gross, monthly including extra payments
Duties and responsibilities:
He/she will participate in the following scientific and technical tasks:
Study of the effect of reclaimed water on soil solution, through the analysis of physicochemical parameters and ion concentration in soil solution. This will involve periodic visits to the farm.
Dynamic characterization of different variables in order to perform short- and medium-term predictions, providing an appropriate dynamic modelling approach, specifying the variables to be predicted, and identifying model parameters based on measured data.
Development of optimized irrigation strategies for berry crops using reclaimed water, which, by exploiting the aforementioned predictive models together with ETc estimation, will design irrigation setpoints based on the model predictive control paradigm.
He/she will collaborate in publications indexed in JCR journals.
Selection process
English (Aptis, Trinity, Cambridge, EOI certificate, or equivalent): B2: 0.5 points; C1 or higher: 1 point
Advanced programming in Matlab: 2 points
Advanced knowledge of systems with temporal dynamics (1 point) and spatio-temporal dynamics (2 points)
Experience in related research projects: 1 point per year of contract (max. 2 points)Experience in scientific publications in international conferences and JCR-indexed journals: 1 point
Experience in experimental research and laboratory work: 1 point
Experience in the use of agricultural sensors and field sampling: 1 point
The evaluation will be scored on a 10-point scale, and a minimum of 5 points is required to pass the selection process.
