Offer Description
The role involves chemical synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterization of analogues of an antimalarial lead compound, along with chemical probes and fluorescent derivatives for pull-down studies. Responsibilities include supervising less-experienced team members, preparing reports and presentations, organizing outreach activities, and managing stocks of reagents, solvents, and chromatographic materials.
Qualifications
Degree in Pharmacy or Chemistry (+ Master in Medicinal Chemistry or Organic Chemistry), PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, with experience in medicinal chemistry projects focusing on hit-to-lead optimization.
Specific Requirements
Over 2 years of postdoctoral experience outside the PhD institution; experience in developing synthetic methodologies; synthesis and characterization of fluorescent compounds; isolation, purification, and characterization of highly polar polyfunctionalized compounds; structural elucidation via spectroscopic techniques; supervision of pregraduate students; management of laboratory stocks; training or experience in intellectual property, transfer activities, and biotech collaborations; proficient in ChemOffice, MestreNova, SciFinder, and Reaxys; engagement in outreach activities.
