Summary: This position is responsible for the day to day administration of all health and welfare, as well as retirement programs for employees based in our Europe and Africa locations, approximately 600 employees in 15 countries for the Dow Jones & Company and News Corp Corporate Services, as well as the strategic oversight for all benefits in the EMEA region. This role, based out of Barcelona, Spain, will work closely with the VP, Global Benefits on the daily delivery of our comprehensive benefit and wellbeing initiatives and strategic long-term planning.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Strategic planning for NCS and Dow Jones benefits across EMEA, Middle East and Africa locations, including
Strategic planning for annual renewals and new initiatives
Contributor and specialist in all EMEA related M&A and benefit compliance issues/new legislation
Communications lead for benefit initiatives which includes managing employee benefits website, quarterly newsletters, targeted communications and education sessions
2. For the 15 countries, direct oversight of the daily administration of healthcare, wellbeing and retirement/pension plan, as well as allowances and perquisites,
Coordinating Spain Darwin Benefits Administration platform windows and employee contributions/taxation with payroll, and administer manual enrollment process in some countries
Executing pension calculations as needed and active governance committee member
Liaison for strategic consulting firm
Reconciliations to carriers and pension providers
3. Source new and relevant vendor solutions to complement benefit programs. Monitor and manage vendor performance
4. Streamline work flow and implement efficiencies
5. Partner as the point of contact for HR, payroll and employees with escalated benefit issues and questions through the online ServiceNow tool. Troubleshoot and advocate on behalf of company and employee with broker or providers when complex issues arise that require additional assistance
6. Special projects as assigned
7. Mentor and grow talent of 1 direct report and 1 indirect report based in UK office
Qualifications
Successful candidates should have:
8. 5+ years benefits experience preferred
9. The ability to work with employees at all levels, as well as the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity
10. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
11. Research oriented and problem solver, attention to detail under pressure and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environment
12. Strong organizational and time-management skills, meet challenging deadlines and multitask
13. Excellent skills in all Microsoft Office Programs, G Suite, and working knowledge and experience working with Workday, UltiPro, Darwin Benefits Administration
