Fundació Institut de Recerca de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (IR Sant Pau) is the managing entity of the Sant Pau Research Institute, a centre belonging to the CERCA system and accredited as a Health Research Institute by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III since 2011. Established in 1992, the Foundation promotes research in health sciences and biomedicine.
Mission and Objectives
The Foundation aims to promote, develop, transfer, manage, and disseminate research and innovation in life sciences and health, fostering collaborations within the Sant Pau Biomedical Campus and beyond. It employs over 400 professionals supporting 1,300 researchers across 73 research groups, producing significant scientific output, with over 1,200 publications in 2024.
IR Sant Pau has received the "HR Excellence in Research" recognition from the European Commission. Its strategic programmes include Advanced Therapies, Genomic Medicine and Rare Diseases, Prognostic and Diagnostic Biomarkers, Better Health Care, and Women's Health and Gender.
The Institute boasts modern research infrastructure, ISO 9001-certified platforms, and facilities for genomics, cytometry, microscopy, biobanking, immunohistochemistry, cell cultures, radioactivity, and animal experimentation. Clinical trial activities are managed through specialized units, including a dedicated advanced therapies unit with AEMPS-accredited clean rooms.
Strategic Plan 2025-2030
The Institute's new strategic plan aims to become an international leader in translational biomedical research, focusing on scientific excellence, talent, social impact, international projection, and organizational transformation. An innovative "Transformation Waves" methodology will guide implementation, with six-month cycles and multidisciplinary teams driving projects using agile approaches.

* Team management experience leading multifunctional teams.
* Financial management experience, including managing budgets and developing business plans; experience in the public sector is valued.
* Experience in process management, measuring performance, efficiency, and profitability.
* Experience in clinical trials management, especially in the private pharmaceutical sector within the public healthcare context.
* Strong negotiation skills with stakeholders across public and private sectors.

Specific Requirements
* Academic background in Economics, Business Administration, Management, or Health Sciences (Medicine, Biomedicine, Pharmacy preferred). Other degrees may be considered.
* Master's degree in Management, MBA, or similar.
* At least 5 years of management experience in research-related institutions, preferably hospital-based.
* Proficiency in both Catalan (spoken and written); candidates without a C-level Catalan certificate must acquire adequate knowledge within one year.
* Advanced English skills.
* Proficiency in office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
