Participation as a Postdoctoral Researcher in studying the correlation between neuromelanin and Parkinson’s disease (PD) by the use of rodents as PD models.Proficiency in spoken and written English (business level)Fluency in Catalan and / or SpanishExperience and knowledge :
Required :
At least 5 years of experience working in the field of NeuroscienceHas conducted research focused on neurochemical mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, in particular in Parkinson’s diseaseExperience with rodent experimentation techniquesExperience with research related to new drugs affecting dopaminergic transmission in rodent models of Parkinson’s diseaseMust have at least 5 years of experience working with animal models and knowledge of animal experimentation techniques (brain surgeries, injections and behavioral tests)Previous experience with processing animal samples (brain and tissue dissection, tissue sectioning by cryostat and microtome)Experience with and knowledge of histological laboratory techniques (e.G. stereological cell analysis, IHC, IF, confocal microscopy) and molecular techniques (ELISA, WB)Experience in image acquisition for IHC and IF samplesExperience in specific software for image and data analysis (OlyVIA, Image J, GraphPad, QuPath, Adobe Illustrator…)Previous experience studying how physiologically relevant levels of Tau, amyloid beta, TDP-43, and / or alpha-synuclein interact and influence Parkinson’s disease processes or pathogenesisExpertise with statistical methods for effective data analysis and interpretationExpertise with studying Tau, α-synuclein, and TDP-43 in the context of Parkinson’s diseaseExperience with developing artificial intelligence algorithms for the analysis of neuronal and glial markersAdditional InformationLabour conditions :
