We are looking for a Scientist R&D – Process Development to join in a temporary position in the Process Development group within the CMC Scientific Innovation Office Division at Instituto Grifols SA, a company specialized in the research, development, and production of therapeutic plasma proteins obtained from human plasma fractionation.
Role Mission
The role's mission is to lead and manage bioprocess development projects in a highly flexible, rigorous, and multidisciplinary environment. The focus will be on designing, optimizing, and scaling up purification processes for plasma-derived proteins, either for developing new therapeutic products or improving existing ones.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop new protein purification processes for new or improved products.
* Qualify the processes at higher scales to ensure robustness and consistency, following Safety and Quality guidelines.
* Prepare and rationalize study designs and bioprocess work orders to ensure good performance and alignment with project goals.
* Assess experimental results and integrate findings into the overall project objectives.
* Prepare development and technical reports and presentations for R&D management.
* Develop technical documentation for regulatory dossiers, supporting new product licenses.
* Create general R&D documentation related to intellectual property, equipment data integrity, Quality compliance, SOPs, etc.
* Investigate new purification technologies to stay aligned with the bioprocess state of the art and optimize current methods.
Candidate Profile
To succeed, candidates should have:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotechnology or chemical engineering (or equivalent).
* Experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is valued.
* Advanced English skills (C1 or higher), as most projects are managed in English.
* A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and teamwork skills.
* Good communication, analytical, and accuracy skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools.
