Global travel associate manager (sant joan despí)

Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of the organization's corporate travel program on a integral scale over $ 300 million spend. This includes optimizing travel policies, support negotiating with suppliers, monitoring compliance to Policy, and ensuring traveller safety and satisfaction. Primary role is to ensure that employees can travel efficiently and cost-effectively while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Position based in Barcelona Office (Hybrid model).

Your mission:

Collaborate with Corporate and Procurement stakeholders to develop a long-term global travel strategy that adapts to changing business needs, market conditions, and industry trends.

Ensure all travel related topics (airlines, hotels, car rental, rail, travel management companies, internal meetings and events, and car fleet etc.) are strategized in terms of processes, tools, systems and policies. Optimize supplier service level (delivery, costs and quality) by selecting, negotiating and managing commercial relationships with the appropriate suppliers.

What You Will Do:

Travel processes, systems & policies assessment and improvement:

· Review existing processes, systems & policies with all relevant stakeholders (central or local) to recommend, get approved and implement changes across the organization and define the travel & procurement management strategy.

· Lead general preferred Travel Management Company and travel online booking tool implementation/improvements across the world and monitor compliance.

· Oversee and manage Travel Management Company (TMC) relationship.

· Get recognized as the global owner of travel category.

· Gather local stakeholders, establish a global travel community to ensure the global strategy and best practises get implemented properly at local level wherever possible.

· Establish and communicate category best practises and industrial best practices to improve the process, encourage the correct user behaviour, ultimately generate savings and values for Ecolab.

Support Sourcing activities:

· Provide inputs to Procurement to source all relevant needs for airlines, hotels, car rental and TMCs defining objectives, resources, timelines, specifications, supplier selection criteria etc.

· Support identifying cost-saving opportunities for Procurement to negotiate with suppliers favourable terms and conditions

Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management:

· Establish and continuously improve the category strategy, and make sure it is aligned with business needs.

· Establish meaningful KPIs to not only drive savings from negotiation with suppliers, but also from demand management and improved user behaviour.

· Recurring reporting on cost savings, cost avoidance and other category relevant KPIs.

· Follow-up on supplier performance via dashboard, governance model or else

· Build and maintain strong relationships with travel suppliers.

· Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.

· Mitigate travel-related risks by providing guidance on health and safety, insurance, and security.

· Establish crisis protocols for handling emergencies and unexpected events.

· Proactively work with suppliers to strengthen business relations (reduce lead-times, improve overall supply chain performance, and reduce costs).

· Integrate sustainability practices into the travel program, promoting environmentally friendly travel options and responsible travel behaviors

Required Experience & Competences:

· University Degree, preferably in Business Management areas.

· Minimum 5 years experiences in travel management for a multinational company.

· Strong data analytical and communication skills.

· High degree of problem-solving and decision-making ability.

· Demonstrated cross-functional leadership.

· Ability to represent Ecolab's interests to outside professionals and suppliers.

· Fluency in English (speak/write business in English) is a must.
