About the position
SSAB is a world leading steelcompany with a strategy to expand our leading position in fossil-free steels,grow our sales of high strengths steels globally, while developing our leadinghome market positions in the Nordics and North America. We operate in aconstantly developing industry context and have set an ambitious transformationagenda for the coming years.
As a part of thetransformation SSAB will be launching program “Aurora” to create new operating model, business processes and IT systems for SSAB’s future business.
We are now looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in the role ofProduction Data Architect. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible fordesigning, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s overall dataarchitecture in the production domain while also specializing in managing ourcritical master data entities close to the plant floor. You will work closelywith cross-functional teams including production engineers, qualityspecialists, operations managers, IT professionals and data analysts.
Position will report to Head of Production Platform.
Main responsibilities
1. Data architecture. Design and develop data architecture for our manufacturing operations, including data models, database designs, and data integration strategies. Ensure that this data architecture enables lasting value across diverse functional domains.
2. Data governance. Define and implement data governance policies and standards in the production domain to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
3. Master data management. Define solutions and processes to manage production related master data and operations definitions covering materials, products, assets, and other key entities in steel production process.
4. Alignment with overall data architecture and information governance. Ensure that production data architecture and production master data models are aligned with overall enterprise level concepts.
- Alignment with Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply Chain Planning and other level 4 solutions; and
−Alignment with Automation and Supervisory Control Systems and other level 2 solutions.
−Work together with program level Information Architect to build alignment.
5. Cross-functional collaboration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams from production, quality, planning & scheduling, and order fulfilment, as well as with IT specialists, solution architects and data analyst to understand business needs and to identify opportunities to leverage data for new insights and continuous improvement.
6. Technical leadership. Provide leadership and guidance to IT teams and other stakeholders involved in design of new manufacturing operations management related systems.
−Help optimize performance of data-driven solutions and ways of working.
−Stay updated with latest trends and leading practices in master data management and data architecture.

Qualifications and experience
11. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or similar degree.
12. Experience from data architecture and/or master data management in enterprise context, ideally with exposure to manufacturing operations management. For example, 5-8 years developing enterprise IT solutions such as ERP, MOM/MES, PLM, WMS, EAM etc. with some exposure to data architecture or master data themes.
13. In-depth knowledge in one or several of the following:
- data modelling, database design and data integration technologies
- master data management strategies, processes, and models for governance
- end-to-end data architectures, critical integration points between solutions
14. Experience from translating business requirements into overall data architecture and to resolve conflicting needs.
15. Prior knowledge of technical and infrastructure related concepts and requirements, for example relating to data pipelines to automate movement and transformation of data; and data lakes to store large volumes of data until it’s needed for analysis.
