Product Assurance Engineer - IRIS2
Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.
Activities
* Support to the definition, design, development and oversight of a telecommunications satellite constellation program in the areas of Product and Quality Assurance disciplines
* Monitor and control all the technical and management aspects of the Quality Assurance disciplines during spacecraft, subsystem, unit and sub-assembly design, manufacturing and test phases
* Oversee and control the work carried out by manufacturer to ensure the adequate implementation of IRIS2 product/quality assurance requirements throughout the program
* Provide programme office with a high level of spacecraft technical product assurance expertise for all activities associated with the design, development, manufacturing and tests of spacecrafts
* Monitor the PA activities during the spacecraft, platform and payload assembly, integration and test activities at the contractor facilities
* Participate in project design and test reviews at multiple levels (system, satellite and unit)
* Interact with the end-to-end system development team to ensure requirements traceability and associated verification plan
* Carry out the hardware & software acceptance reviews in coordination with the programme office
* Manage the non-conformance control system, assess technical residual risks associated to the non-conformances and waivers, and decide on their acceptability
Responsibilities
* Preparation and participation in unit, subsystem and system design, manufacturing and testing review meetings
* Preparation and participation in Mandatory Inspection Points at unit, subsystem and satellite levels
* Preparation and participation in Parts, Materials and Processes Control Boards
* Preparation and participation in programme audits and launch campaign activities
* Preparation and participation in the In Orbit Test Campaign
* Preparation of weekly reports of activities
* Provide 24/7 on‑call support during satellite system and Payload/Platform testing
Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
* 10+ years of experience in a similar position with hands‑on experience or exposure in satellite procurement, satellite equipment manufacturing or payload/platform in‑orbit operations in GEO and/or LEO
* Experience managing large EU and ESA projects
* Deep knowledge of space qualified parts, materials and processes for Payload and Platform equipment
* Deep knowledge of space product and quality assurance standards and equipment inspection techniques
* Experience with reliability engineering activities: reliability prediction analysis, FMECA, parts stress analysis, work case analysis, critical item control, availability and outage analysis
* Demonstrated skills in manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing oversight at unit, subsystem and satellite levels
* Strong knowledge of software development environments

* Highly collaborative individual, able to build relationships internally and externally across all levels and functions
* Capacity to deal with complex situations with assertiveness and calm judgment
Other Requirements
* Native to an EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance process
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in any other European language is an asset
