Platform Engineer – Senior
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform team and play a key role in evolving and operating the foundational infrastructure that powers our engineering organization. The Platform team is responsible for running and evolving cloud infrastructure (AWS, including EKS) and the shared services that enable our engineering teams to build and operate scalable, reliable systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and operate scalable and secure AWS‑based infrastructure.
Manage and evolve Kubernetes clusters (EKS), ensuring high availability and performance.
Improve infrastructure through automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
Contribute to architecture decisions that improve platform resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Operate and optimize shared services such as RDS, MongoDB, Confluent Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, Elasticsearch, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery readiness.
Standardize service provisioning and lifecycle management.
Lead improvements in observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Strengthen platform resiliency and fault tolerance.
Drive root‑cause analysis and preventive improvements after incidents.
Define and track SLIs/SLOs for platform services.
Design self‑service capabilities for engineering teams.
Reduce friction in provisioning and operating infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand their needs and proactively improve platform capabilities.
Document and communicate best practices clearly.
Identify opportunities for modernization and platform optimization.
Evaluate new technologies and approaches aligned with business and engineering strategy.
Contribute to platform roadmap and technical strategy.
Technical Expertise
Strong experience with AWS in production environments.
Deep hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
Experience operating distributed systems and stateful services at scale.
Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud‑native architectures.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Strong knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
Hands‑on experience with messaging and event‑driven architectures including RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, and Confluent.
Experience with database technologies, including relational and NoSQL systems such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Engineering Mindset
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Experience in high‑availability and mission‑critical systems.
Ability to balance operational stability with innovation.
Comfortable working in complex, distributed environments.
