Job Description
The Omic Sciences Department conducts its activities using state-of-the-art infrastructures at the Centre for Omic Sciences (COS), a unique center equipped with the latest metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and genomics technologies. It offers comprehensive biomarker research services across health, food, and environmental sectors, from project design support to data analysis and integration from various omics technologies.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Specialist Proteomics researcher to join our cutting-edge Proteomics Platform. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers and industry partners to advance proteomics methodologies, especially in ultra-sensitive quantitative proteomics, post-translational modifications (PTMs), and integrative multi-omics approaches.
Responsibilities
As a key team member, your role includes:
* Developing and optimizing nanoLC-MS/MS methods for proteomics analysis.
* Performing sample preparation, protein digestion, mass spectrometry acquisition, and data analysis.
* Maintaining and troubleshooting high-end mass spectrometry instrumentation.
* Implementing quality control (QC) and validation protocols.
* Developing strategies for protein identification, annotation, and quantification using advanced data processing tools (e.g., Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant).
* Participating in scientific publications, documentation, and protocol standardization.
* Supporting research projects and collaborating with national and international partners.
* Assisting in lab organization, supply management, and database maintenance.

Requirements
Qualifications:
* PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive experience in mass spectrometry and chromatography (LC-MS/MS, HRMS) applied to proteomics.
* Strong background in proteomics workflows, including bottom-up and top-down approaches, DIA, and label-free quantification.
* Proficiency in MS data processing software (e.g., MaxQuant, Proteome Discoverer, Skyline).
* Experience in data preprocessing and instrument maintenance.
* Motivation for research and scientific publication.
* Excellent organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
* Fluency in English (B1 or higher), with proficiency in Spanish and Catalan.
Additional Valued Skills
* Experience in protein sample preparation from biofluids or tissues.
* Experience with glycoproteomics, PTMs analysis, and advanced techniques.
* Knowledge of SOPs, quality systems, machine learning, statistical analysis, and bioinformatics tools.
