Job Description
This position is a FPGA Development Engineer role within Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space), focused on developing electronic units for flight equipment across the space business, including launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), space exploration (Artemis), and commercial telecommunications satellites. The role will contribute to shaping future innovative products and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and verify FPGA designs using RTL VHDL and related hardware description languages.
- Perform analysis and synthesis of high‑level requirements to generate FPGA specifications and design architecture.
- Implement RTL VHDL and conduct functional verification.
- Perform synthesis, physical implementation (layout), and static timing analysis.
- Document design and coordinate with the customer on FPGA design matters.
- Collab oorate with the technical team to support launchers (Ariane 6, Vega), power management, attitude control, satellite electric propulsion, image sensors, data acquisition, instrument control, onboard computing, antenna electronics, and communications.
- Support project management by following schedules, cost, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- High degree in Engineering (Microelectronics preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in FPGA designs.
- Strong knowledge of VHDL; Verilog or SystemVerilog is a plus.
- Proficiency in synthesis and layout constraints, static timing analysis.
- Experience with FPGA System on Chip and high‑level synthesis.
- Programming experience in scripting languages (Python, TCL, Bash) and C/C++ is a plus.
- Experience with design tools from Synopsys, Mentor, Actel/Microchip, Xilinx.
- Knowledge of RISC‑V emerging processor technology.
- Hardware prototyping experience.
