On behalf of our client, a dynamic player in the metal recycling industry, we are seeking a
Scrap Metal Trader & Business Developer based in Madrid / Spain.
About the Role:
As a
Scrap Metal Trader & Business Developer, youll be at the forefront of expanding our clients trading operations in
France. This is a high-impact position where youll drive significant revenue through strategic deal-making in the
scrap metal sector,
specifically focusing on
scrap aluminum and copper. Youll be building and managing a robust supplier network while working closely with cross-functional teams across Europe to achieve ambitious sales targets. This role combines the thrill of deal closure with the strategic thinking required to build lasting business relationships in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Location: Madrid / Spain (expectation to travel across France for BD purposes)
Working model: Hybrid
Must-have: Professional fluency in French
What youll do:
Lead sales efforts to secure and manage contracts worth €45,000-60,000 per deal, scaling to €1,000,000 in monthly deals by the fourth month
Actively build and expand your customer base by establishing connections with scrap yards, production sites, and large industry suppliers across
France
Develop and maintain a strong network of suppliers through both digital channels and traditional relationship-building approaches
Utilize advanced CRM systems for efficient data management, report generation, and tracking of sales activities
Collaborate with the marketing team and senior commercial staff at headquarters, including monthly travel for strategy alignment
Participate in strategic planning sessions with product leaders and marketing managers to address specific market demands
Report directly to the CEO & Founder on progress, challenges, and opportunities
Who you are:
You have
over 2 years
of proven experience in scrap metal trading, with specific expertise in buying aluminum and copper scrap
Your background includes commercial roles such as trader, purchase manager, or purchase responsible within scrapyards or foundries
You bring established relationships with known suppliers in France, particularly with scrapyards and large industry clients
You possess in-depth knowledge of aluminum and copper markets, ideally gained through hands-on experience in scrapyards or foundries
Youre proficient with CRM systems and comfortable leveraging digital tools for sales and data management
Youre fluent in both English and French
Youre a proactive self-starter who thrives on challenges, is results-driven, and has a hunger for continuous xhfqzwm learning and growth
You have excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish trust with C-level executives and industry stakeholders
