Finance Projects - Unit Coordinator
role at Barcelona Supercomputing Center.We are looking for a coordinator for the Finance Projects Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance Projects, the Unit Coordinator will support and manage the financial aspects of BSC's competitive projects. Each Unit Coordinator oversees specific areas within the team, ensuring policies and procedures are effectively implemented, and that economic planning, budget control, and reporting meet high standards. The role involves leading the team, managing a portfolio of projects, and working closely with researchers to ensure compliance with funding requirements and optimal use of financial resources.Key Duties
Unit Leadership and Coordination :
Coordinate daily operations of finance project units, fostering reliability and collaboration.Work with project teams and Principal Investigators to monitor budgets, maintain project data in SAP, and prepare financial reports.Lead teams with clear communication, goal setting, and performance monitoring.
Funding Compliance and Reporting :
Ensure timely administrative and financial reporting for grants.Collaborate with auditors and manage financial documentation for audits.
Resource Planning :
Assist in planning financial and human resources for research projects.Monitor budgets and adjust spending to stay aligned with projections.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
Serve as contact for external auditors and ensure compliance with reporting standards.Work with Principal Investigators on resource allocation and budget forecasts.
Operational Support and Reporting :
Maintain accurate records in SAP Business One.Support policy development to improve financial management.
Requirements
University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field;
Master’s preferred.5-8 years of experience, with at least 2 in financial coordination or project management.Proficiency in English and Spanish;
Catalan is a plus.Experience with finance requirements in research or public institutions.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Additional Skills
Team management experience.Experience with ERP systems like SAP Business One.Experience in international research or academic environments.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Attention to detail, proactive attitude, and problem-solving skills.Conditions
The role is based at BSC, within the Management Department. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), flexible hours, training, health insurance, and relocation support. The contract is open-ended, with holidays including 23 paid days plus additional dates. Salary is competitive and aligned with experience and cost of living in Barcelona.
