For our dynamic growing, innovative Brands division within an already established big generic International pharmaceutical company, we are looking for an experienced Medical Affairs field professional who dares to look outside the clear-cut frames of a common big pharma MSL job and who wants to operate in an autonomous entrepreneurial way. This job offers you the opportunity to develop in the broadest sense by being engaged in all aspects of the business and manage your own daily work. Working in parallel with another Medical Manager based in Madrid, Spain, you will be responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and Execution of the Medical projects in Spain but also provide Medical Affairs support to the Sales and Marketing colleagues of which a demonstrable affinity with seeing commercial opportunities is required. You live in Spain (Preferred locations: Andalucía – Sevilla; Malaga; Madrid; Barcelona, but candidates from other regions will be considered) and are able to speak English because of the communication with the European Management team. You will report to the Lead Medical Managers Europe. The European Management team is located at different places in Europe and the European offices are in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Major tasks & responsibilities
Development Medical Affairs strategy and execution Medical scientific projects like scientific publications and advisory boards
Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs, as well as other influencers and leaders of the scientific and healthcare community, utilizing scientific and medical evidence-based information
Strategically prepare and support the development, launch of products through scientific exchange in melanoma.
Support Early Access Program requests from HCPs in Spain for melanoma patients
Ensure business support to marketing/commercial/market access for Odomzo (sonidegib) indicated for locally advanced basal cell carcinoma
Lead the process to approval of investigator-initiated trials and monitor progression
Ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, compliant and ethical manner
Develop links with and support national, regional and local networks in Derma-oncology as well as in future potential TAs
Communicate the latest emerging data to identified experts, response to unsolicited healthcare professional inquiries
Supporting colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content support to speakers.
Key Performance Indicators/result areas
Planning and execution of medical affairs tactics in preparation to the launch of new product in melanoma
Awareness level of medical treatment with sonidegib among treating Derma-oncologists in country and among national Derma-oncologist KOL community
National Peer-to-peer program planning and implementation
Prepare prioritized target list
Setting up and successfully lead local engagement plan
Planning and implementing national symposia (stand alone or within relevant congresses)
Local medical publications, including abstracts and posters
Scientific presentations in hospitals
Collaborative approach with the cross-functional team (marketing, market access, Key Account Managers)
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Education Qualifications (Graduate- Post Graduate)
Mandatory – (bio) medical (scientific) academic degree
Driver’s license
Work experience
Mandatory - Minimum of 3 years of MSL or Medical Manager experience in the innovative pharmaceutical industry
At least one year experience in a commercial function within the innovative pharmaceutical industry
Mandatory - Fluent in English
Desirable: Dermatology/Oncology experience
Desirable: Experience with Early Access Programs in Spain
