The Compliance Manager oversees governance processes to ensure all Ice Cream organizations comply with environmental laws, regulations, and internal standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs, including auditing, audit action tracking, and reporting. The scope covers air, water, and waste environmental compliance across factories, offices, R&D centers, distribution centers, field sales, and merchandisers. The Compliance Manager collaborates organization-wide to implement environmental technology, tools, and processes, continually simplifying compliance and fostering a strong environmental compliance culture. The manager also leads a team of Data Analysts to streamline global environmental reporting, ensuring the protection of people and the planet. The role is the main contact for ESRS reporting.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Develop and Implement Audit and Reporting Compliance Programs: Create and manage programs to ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and internal standards. Oversee auditing, audit action tracking, and reporting processes. Develop tools to identify systemic gaps and recurring findings across environmental standards. Report audit findings to senior leaders.
2. Training and Communication: Provide training to employees, contractors, and suppliers on compliance. Promote a strong environmental compliance culture through effective communication. Participate in the SHE Global Leadership Team to drive unified environmental compliance efforts globally.
3. Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed. Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies. Manage global external environmental reporting and data integrity, including ESRS and Unilever’s Annual Report. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reported data.
4. Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting operations. Escalate risks appropriately to senior leadership and the Corporate Responsibility Committee. Drive continuous improvement in compliance processes supporting the company's commitments to safety and environmental sustainability.
Experience Required:
* Essential: Experience in supply chain, proven analytical and data management skills, university degree in Science or Engineering, expertise in data reporting and statistical analysis, excellent communication and influencing skills, strong observation and auditing skills, ability to influence in a matrixed organization, and multitasking abilities.
* Preferred: 5-7 years in extended business operations, conflict resolution skills.
Travel: Up to 50% travel for global audits.
