Short-Form Video Editor (Social / Performance) Context
Drowsy is a fast-growing beauty & wellness DTC brand at ~$10M ARR, building a category-defining presence around sleep, ritual, and modern self-care.
Short-form video is one of our most important growth levers across Instagram, TikTok, and paid media. We’re looking for a hands-on, performance-minded Video Editor to help us increase creative velocity and output across organic and paid social.
This is not a cinematic brand film role. This is fast, iterative, mobile-native editing designed for attention and performance.
What You’ll Do Short-Form Editing (Organic + Paid)
- Edit high volumes of Reels, TikToks, and ad creatives
- Turn raw iPhone footage, UGC, and brand assets into high-performing short-form content
- Create multiple variations from a single concept to enable testing
Performance-Driven Iteration
- Adapt hooks, pacing, subtitles, and structure based on performance feedback
- Repurpose winning formats into repeatable templates
- Understand how to edit for retention, watch time, and thumb-stop power
Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with Social, Growth, and Creative teams
- Execute clear briefs quickly and accurately
- Suggest structural improvements when appropriate
System & Throughput
- Organise footage and maintain efficient file workflows
- Build reusable editing templates to increase speed
- Balance quality with output — speed matters
Your Profile Must-Haves
- 2+ years editing short-form content for brands or creators
- Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and platform-native pacing
- Highly proficient in CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar
- Comfortable editing UGC-style content (raw, authentic, imperfect)
- Strong instinct for hooks, rhythm, subtitles, and attention mechanics
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience editing performance ads for DTC brands
- Beauty, wellness, or fashion brand experience
- Understanding of retention metrics and creative testing loops
- Basic motion graphics skills
