Reporting to the Operations Manager, Campus Services, the Supervisor, Campus Store & Course Materials is responsible for achieving goals and objectives through the effective supervision of Sheridan's Campus Store, retail-on-campus, and online stores. The incumbent will lead, procure, and develop retail products that meet College and department goals, managing multiple retail locations and product categories to optimize space, inventory, sales, and service delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Developing strategic and operational plans, aligning resources accordingly.
2. Providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors.
3. Identifying sales, collaboration, and promotional opportunities to generate revenue across campuses.
4. Planning and purchasing Course Materials for resale, developing annual procurement plans with stakeholders.
5. Reviewing inventory for accuracy, competitiveness, and relevance to customer needs.
6. Managing vendor relationships and ensuring security of retail goods per loss prevention policies.
7. Allocating resources efficiently and monitoring financial performance of the Retail/Campus Store.
8. Monitoring profit margins, expenses, inventory turnover, and benchmarking metrics; reporting to the Director.
9. Implementing marketing, communication, and operational plans for Campus Services.
10. Assisting with budget preparation, goal setting, and financial projections.
11. Maintaining security and POS accuracy in retail areas.
12. Organizing inventory counts and reconciling sales and financial data.
13. Leading and supporting staff and student employees to foster growth and high performance.
14. Managing HR activities, including recruitment, performance, and attendance, in compliance with policies and agreements.
15. Collaborating with the Director to develop strategic plans for course materials aligned with College goals.
16. Performing additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. 3-year college diploma or university degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
2. Experience in marketing or entrepreneurial initiatives with stakeholder engagement.
3. Strong sales and negotiation skills.
4. Operational leadership experience.
5. Financial accounting and analysis skills.
6. Knowledge of Course Material/Retail POS systems and Bookware.
7. Experience working in a post-secondary environment with senior leaders, staff, and students.
