At ORTEC ENGINEERING SPAIN, we are seeking senior experts on supportability / ILS engineering with proven experience in Defense, helicopters and R&D programs, to lead a challenging project over the next years. This position is hybrid remote (40%) on-site Madrid or Seville (60%) and comprises collaborations with major manufacturers and institutions within EU.
The project is targeted to develop advanced technologies for next-generation rotorcrafts, allowing to define future Life Cycle operational needs for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems, and ensure European competitiveness in technological developments.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The selected candidates will report to the Production Director and the Head of ILS Business Unit. Their main goal will be to develop, lead or coordinate technical and project management activities related to an undisclosed ILS project for future state-of-the-art helicopter program and associated defense systems and platforms, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, schedules, and budget.
Key tasks include:
* Definition of Operational use cases for In-Service support planning baseline.
* Definition of Integrated Logistic Support Plan and the list of preliminary ILS processes and tools, with defined functionalities and interactions.
* Preliminary H/C High-level system architecture: Design Influence – requirements list to be influenced and compliant with IPS approach.
* Reference industry standards and prior ILS frameworks to define initial expectations.
* Preliminary analysis of IPS standards (S-Series and others) to determine compatibility with ISP, and analysis of relevant state-of-the-art to ensure alignment.
Training, simulation and operation – Development of the Training Baseline
* Identification of roles, skills, and procedures required for effective system operation and support.
* High-level structure of the proposed training environment, tools, and delivery methods.
Life-cycle vision plan
* Defining and assisting in the development of data requirement for specific tools (data analytics, platform in-service data collection, artificial intelligence solutions).
Enhanced maintenance plan – Development of Maintenance Plan Baseline
* Identification of reusable components and modularity maintenance plan.
* Analysis of relevant state-of-the-art to ensure alignment with current and emerging technologies.
* Traditional maintenance method comparison between corrective, preventive and predictive with advantages, feasibility and interchange.
REQUIREMENTS
* Degree in Industrial, Electronic, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in ILS within technical industrial environments, preferably in the Defense or Aerospace sectors. Deep Knowledge of maintenance, logistics, and life cycle support standards (ILS/LSA).
* Experience in rotary aircraft systems.
* Deep knowledge over regulatory and compliance frameworks in the sector (S-SERIES, PECAL/AQAP, MIL-STD, DEF-STAN). Experience with technical publications, SGML/S1000D, GAMI, or NATO standards.
* High level of English proficiency (C1 min).
* Willingness to travel occasionally, both nationally and internationally.
VALUABLE ADDITIONAL SKILLS
* Experience in R&D projects operation mode.
* Experience in artificial intelligence deployments on supportability or ILS applications.
SALARY RANGE
* 40.000,00€ - 80.000,00€ gross /year depending on the expertise and seniority of the selected candidates and role within the team.
The position is hybrid Remote and on-site Madrid or Seville offices, with possible travels within Europe.
