Senior Accountant
to join our team through MezTal, supporting a U.S.-based client in the
senior living and healthcare industry .
This organization operates in a
mission-driven, nonprofit environment focused on improving quality of life for older adults, requiring strong financial stewardship, accuracy, and collaboration across multiple entities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in
U.S. GAAP, full-cycle accounting, and financial reporting, along with the ability to thrive in a
dynamic, service-oriented environment .
Key Responsibilities
Manage
general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Support
month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and analyze
financial statements
in compliance with
U.S. GAAP .
Perform
balance sheet reconciliations
and investigate variances.
Assist with
budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to stakeholders.
Maintain and improve
internal controls and accounting procedures .
Support
audit processes, including preparation of schedules and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance .
Handle
multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments
(preferred).
Identify opportunities for
process improvements and automation .
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field .
4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or advanced role.
Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
and accrual accounting.
Experience with
month-end close and financial reporting .
Advanced
Excel skills
(pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Advanced English (professional working proficiency) .
Preferred
Experience in
nonprofit, healthcare, or senior living industries .
Exposure to
multi-entity or consolidated financial environments .
Experience with
ERP systems
(e.g., Yardi, NetSuite, or similar).
Experience supporting
audits
or working with external auditors.
