Data Governance Specialist – Driving Scalable, Practical Data Governance at Enterprise Level

Your Role as a Data Governance Specialist:
You will lead the design and implementation of a modern data governance audit and assurance framework, focused on enabling continuous improvement in data maturity across business domains. The emphasis is on creating a framework that is structured yet practical - one that integrates seamlessly with existing tools and processes and is actively used by the organisation.
Working closely with both business and technical stakeholders, you will ensure governance is not only defined, but effectively operationalised.
What You’ll Do:
* Design and implement a scalable data governance audit and assurance framework, including controls, tooling, and collaboration mechanisms
* Ensure the framework is intuitive, efficient, and aligned with real business workflows
* Integrate governance processes with existing platforms, particularly Collibra and enterprise data catalogues
* Leverage business rules, metadata, and systems to support increasingly automated audit capabilities
* Design and execute baseline data maturity assessments across domains
* Establish governance controls, monitor progress against targets, and drive remediation actions
* Develop and refine data governance policies, standards, and procedures
* Deliver targeted training and enablement to support the adoption of data management roles
* Engage stakeholders to understand domain-specific challenges and embed governance accordingly
* Continuously improve governance practices based on feedback, adoption, and measurable outcomes
What You Bring:
* 5+ years’ experience in data governance, data management, or related enterprise data environments
* Proven experience designing or implementing governance frameworks, audits, or maturity models
* Hands‑on experience with Collibra or similar data governance platforms
* Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, metadata, lineage, and stewardship
* Experience integrating governance into tools, processes, and enterprise ecosystems
* Ability to balance structure with usability to ensure adoption across the organisation
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams
* High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to tailor messaging and training to different audiences
* Experience delivering training, enablement, or change initiatives is advantageous
