In addition to its own products, BASF Española S.L. markets more than 5,000 products from the BASF Group: chemical, organic and inorganic products, catalysts; phytosanitary products, plastic materials, dispersions and raw materials for the inks, paints, plastics, paper, ceramics and cosmetics industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BTC is BASF's in-house distributor that supplies a wide range of performance chemicals to a variety of industries and applications including coatings, adhesives, plastics, lubricants, homecare and personal care. As an Account Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. You will manage and be responsible for the sales performance of your Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers (CASE) customers in Iberia for BTC Europe.
2. You will be the key interface for all commercial negotiations and technical enquiries for your customers.
3. You will analyse the customer decision-making processes and manage contacts at various levels within the respective customer organisations.
4. You will identify business potentials (including cross selling of products from the BTC portfolio, but also with other BASF business units) and leverage at existing and new accounts.
5. Monitor market trends and competitor activities at your customers, gathering such information and using it to develop opportunities for growth.
6. In addition, you will propose and collaborate in joint projects, e.g., development projects with customers, logistic concepts, and projects within BTC, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
7. Chemistry, Pharmacy or Chemical Engineering Degree.
8. Entrepreneurial drive and first class customer relationship skills with an aptitude for people, products and customers.
9. Knowledge of the CASE Industries would be an advantage.
10. Previous work experience in this field.
11. High level of Spanish and English (B2). Catalan is a plus.
12. We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated individual, who is extremely customer-focused and has first class negotiation, decision making and communication skills.
13. A full driving license is required as this role will involve a significant amount of travel within the Iberia.
14. This position can be either office based in Barcelona, or also home-based depending on location.
